About Windows® 7 Release Candidate

Windows 7

The Release Candidate features several changes and improvements since the Beta release in January. Here are a few of the highlights:
-
Needy State -This is the alert you see when a window needs attention. We've changed the flashing animation and used a bolder orange color to make it more noticeable.
-
Taskbar "open with" -You can now open a file with a desired application by holding the shift key while you drop the file on that application.
-
Taskbar scaling -You can now squeeze more items in the taskbar before scrolling; depending on your resolution and icon size, you can get up to 39% more icons than with the Beta.
-
User Account Control (UAC) -We've made a design change that will prompt for any modifications to the UAC control panel.
-
FAT32 support -Libraries in the RC now support non-removable FAT32 and NTFS hard disk drives.

Here you will find detailed information on the new features and capabilities in Windows 7, along with guidance to help you and your organization prepare for Windows 7 migration. Microsoft Partners will want to find out more information by visiting the Windows 7 resources available.

Happy testing!
